To CLEAR UP RUMORS and FALSE STATEMENTS a number of you have contacted us about, if you would kindly read through all of my posting here and then please let everyone you know the following TRUE information, if you would be so kind:
Q: Will there be a Memorial Service/Celebration of John's life?
A: Yes, it will be held SATURDAY of the Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree on March 13 2010, 9:30 am, Galleria 2 Room. You are invited and seating likely will be limited (as that room only holds 100 people and we could not expand the room to seat more people, though we tried).
Q: What has changed at Carter Steel Guitars lately?
A: First of all, we thank everyone for your patronage and support for the past 18 years. Founder/Visionary/President John Fabian has passed to a better place. He has handed the Leadership/President position to his wife, Ann, who wishes to sell the Company. In the meantime, Carter Steel Guitars has and WILL CONTINUE to sell Carter PRO models. If you wish to purchase, please see below.
Q: Has the COMPANY Carter Steel Guitars been sold yet?
A: No, not yet. The Company Carter Steel Guitars is for sale, however.
Q: If I wish to purchase the COMPANY, or if I know someone who is interested in buying the COMPANY, do you have any information for me?
A: Yes.
Q: Since you closed your COMPANY factory/SHOP LOCATION, what items are still for sale if I buy the COMPANY?
A: Although many of the supplies have been sold, much remains that still will be of enormous value for running a successful pedal steel guitar production & sales company. Some of the items available in such a purchase would be: Vendor List (very valuable), Drawings in CAD (SolidWorks), Materials List (including proprietary info & sourcing), Training (production, marketing, advertising, and sales), Patent, Web Sites, Domain Names (a large number of them), Company Names, Trademarks, Trade Names, Tooling, and so on. If someone you know wants to go into producing the Carter-Starter or Carter PRO model or Magnum Pro Select or Custom Shoppe Limited Edition series (whether it is 1 of these or any combination of these), they may contact Ann Fabian by email at psgbuilder@SteelGuitar.com if they want to purchase a division of the COMPANY.
Q: What was most important to John Fabian with regard to his Company, Carter Steel Guitars, during his last few months?
A: It was imperative to John Fabian, as well as me, that the integrity, honesty and care of our customers for which we were known continue after his death. Consequently, we have arranged for Al Brisco to provide Warranty Service for new Carters, Carter-Starters and Magnums sold by Al or anyone else prior to John's death and afterward. It was also very important to John that parts be available for the foreseeable future, so we have supplied Al with an ample supply of basic parts. John told me specfically that he wanted us to strive to leave customers and vendors whole & well-taken-care-of every step of the way. He insisted this be done even after his passing, [which Ann is carrying on as her own commitment to her own personal values, as well as a lasting tribute to John Fabian's memory].
Q: May I buy a NEW Carter pro model psg?
A: Yes. We have many in stock, brand new in their case. Due to the best advance planning we endeavored to do for our current and future customers, John and I arranged to have available now LOTS of Carter PRO models - - - brand new pro models - - - ready to purchase after John's passing. Al Brisco now has them. Many of our customers in the last few weeks have selected from among these and you may if you wish, as well.

Q: Who is NOW selling PARTS for Carter Steel Guitars products?

A: We plan to redo our web sites when we can do so (in order to redirect sales to Al Brisco and then to anyone who actually purchases the Company). However, we do plan to keep the basic web sites up on the web. These web sites truly contain some of John Fabian's greatest legacies.
Q: Any last, parting words or ideas from John Fabian to all of us?
A: Yes, he wanted to leave the world a better place than he found it. He wanted to give all he could to all of you. He loved sharing together humor, ideas, debate, inspiration, vision, learning, discovery, profound knowledge, and was extremely thankful for all those exchanges.
