Bud Isaacs, Speedy West, Leon McCauliffe and Billy Bowman.

C'est énorme ce qu'il a fait. Un style reconnaissable entre tous même si certains plans avaient été initiés par Joaquin Murphy.
Dans les années 40 il a donné à la steel une dynamique et un swing avec de magnifiques effets. Avec Johnny Horton ou Merle Travis (on peut les voir en video en 46-47) cet homme est un maitre.
J'avais discuté avec Lee Jeffries, qui a joué avec Big Sandy and the fly right boys, très influencé par son "son" et les effets de ricochets.

Mmmm he's always been one of my favorites, a true pioneer. My very favorite tune he did with Jimmy Bryant was the Stratosphere Boogie.

I think Jimmy played the main riff on a doubleneck Mosrite guitar, the 12 string neck tuned guitar in thirds so the 'big strings' e-a-d-g-b-e
and the octave strings G -C- F - Bb - D - G

Once I was traveling through Oklahoma City and I saw Speedy Wests Grandson playing at a Holiday Inn Hotel, they call him Speedy Jr.

je crois que Jimmy jouait le riff principal s: une Mosrite double manche
le manche 12 était accordé en tierces, les grosses cordes : e-a-d-g-b-e
& les cordes a l'octave : G -C- F - Bb - D - G
en voyageant a travers Oklahoma City, j'ai vu le petit fils a Speedy qui jouait dans un Holiday Inn sous le nom de Speedy Junior ( Jr)
